Happy Monday, friends! I loved the layout from my simple birthday card so much that I decided to try it again! This time I’m using a more neutral palette and the new Blessed Easter sketch stamp. Have you seen this stamp yet? It’s perfect for a water color technique or just for coloring in! I love sketched stamps! The options are always endless. Pro tip: If you cut the greeting from the stamp base and adhere it to the side of the block (or a spare block you may have from the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit), you’ll end up with 2 stamps in one! Let’s find out how to make this easy watercolor tulip Easter card.
So the layout is the same as the simple birthday card with one exception: instead of using ribbon to matte the image on the left, I used a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock which I embossed using the Big Shot. The pattern is the now-retired Lacy Brocade embossing folder. That piece measured 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. I then cut a piece of Watercolor Wonder designer paper at 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ which is layered over the embossed cardstock. Before adhering the matted designer paper to the card base (which is 4 1/4″ x 11″ whisper white), I stamped the tulip image using Island Indigo ink. I stamped this directly onto the card base using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for positioning. I chose not to color the tulips in but you could easily add some color by stamping this in black ink and then use an Aqua Painter to add a splash of color. (No pun intended!) Next I stuck everything together with some SNAIL and finished it off using some basic Pearls Jewels.
