Happy Thursday friends! Tomorrow is Valentines’ Day! Now, I have to admit, I’ve never really been behind the worldly view of the holiday but I do absolutely adore the decorations. Nevertheless, I’m teaching my girls that this day can be used to celebrate how much they appreciate their friends. And that’s what it really is all about, isn’t it!
Boy and Girl Monster Valentine’s
This year, Stampin’ Up! released a set of really adorable Monster Valentines. The Monster Valentines resonated with my kids! I purchased them in early December and the girls been dying to get their hands on them! Well last night was the night and they had so much fun putting these together! I was going to add a picture of each of them but my youngest is going through a “birthday suit” phase right now and, needless to say, it doesn’t make for very good family photos. (Although I do have quite the healthy range of embarrassing photos for when she’s older!)
I thought for sure they would try to add more eyes to each monster but they understood that not every monster would have an eye if they did! Oh, Lord they’re at the perfect age where I just don’t want them to get any older! We will be handing these out to all of their friends in our small group meeting tonight! And tonight is a special small group for us because we are having a pot-luck with another small group! I just love getting together with our friends and enjoying each-others company! And while the girls were wearing their proverbial crafting hats, mommy was wearing hers!
Stampin’ Up! also featured the equally adorable Sweetheart Valentines Treat Bags!
Now, I have to admit when the bags came, I was a little disappointed with their size. I was envisioning putting a cookie in there. In retrospect, I’m glad they were a little smaller than I imagined because I know the grease from the cookie would have destroyed the bags! The bags are the perfect size for a Ghirardelli chocolate square (which is what I used to fill them). The bags came with some twine and also a little banner you can stamp and stick to the bags. But who says you can’t add more? Here are the Sweetheart Valentines Treat Bags that I made for each lady attending the small group potluck. Aren’t these just the sweetest things you ever saw?
