Hello friends! How have you been? Gosh it’s been so long! Just wanted to pop in and deliver some updates for you guys. I just got the By The Tide stamp set and had to use it. I made the beautiful card you see here with the seashell from the set. More info on that below but first some updates! So the last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic for me. We celebrated my daughter’s fifth birthday in March–my parents came to town! It was a great time. I also got to go to San Francisco a couple of weeks ago for the Ad:Tech conference, which was pretty neat. On top of all that, I’ve been writing a couple of outlines to submit as a speaker proposal for the upcoming WordPress conference: Seattle WordCamp!
WordPress user? Never been to a WordCamp? It’s awesome! WordCamp is meant for all sorts of users of WordPress whether you are a blogger or a developer or you just want to know more. It’s inexpensive–tickets are typically only $20–and they’re held all over the world! Check out the Seattle WordCamp site for more info. Don’t live in Seattle? There’s probably a WordCamp near you! Visit WordCamp Central to find your closest WordCamp. If there’s two things I don’t shut up about, it’s WordPress and Stampin’ Up!
Stampin’ Up in Japan
And speaking of Stampin’ Up!, huge news for those of you who live in Japan… Stampin’ Up will be opening for business in Japan later this year! Here’s the information we were given:
At Stampin’ Up!, we say hello many ways: hello, bonjour, Hallo, G’day, and ¡hola! Now we can add Kon’nichiwa to the list. We’re excited to announce that later this year we will be open for business in Japan!
Why Japan? Japan holds great promise for Stampin’ Up! Japan is a culture that loves creativity and crafting-so Japan and Stampin’ Up! are the perfect pair.
As a preview to our launch later this year, we’re taking part in the largest hobby show in Asia on April 24-26 in Tokyo. This will be a great opportunity to showcase our products and share the Stampin’ Up! experience with crafters in Japan. If you have friends and family in Japan, tell them about our participation in the show and encourage them to visit our booth to find out more about Stampin’ Up! and our exciting products.
We’ll let you know more about this exciting launch as it gets closer.
How awesome is that! I know that I’m excited for all you crafters overseas!

Quick Project: Simple, Ocean-Inspired Any-Occasion Card
Isn’t this just the cutest! I got the idea from Diane Dimich, who posted a video on YouTube demonstrating how to make a nested banner card. You guys should check that video out!
So like I was saying, I recently got the By the Tide stamp set, which features this beautiful seashell among other great stamps and I just had to use it immediately. I also got my hands on a heat embosser, some Versamark ink and some gold heat embossing powder and, needless to say, I’m ADDICTED to heat embossing now! Be watching for more great embossed cards in the future! In fact, my next post is going to feature both heat embossing and the March 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit. And seriously, who didn’t love that kit?
