Washi tape feathers are really easy to make — anyone can do it in five minutes or less. All you need is some washi tape, bakers twine and scissors. Scroll down to watch how I made these little guys:
In the video, I mention about how Shelli Gardner (Co-Founder of Stampin’ Up) demonstrated how to make these washi tape feathers. Here’s the card that Shelli showed the audience. Gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing this tip with us, Shelli–and the chuckles ;)
Here’s another shot of the card I created based upon Shelli’s original design:
This card features the Four Feathers stamp set from the 2014 Holiday catalog, which carried over and is still available. The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration freebie “A Happy Thing”, which is free with your purchase of $50 in my online store. This same set also features a cute bird, which would be perfect to use with the feathers technique!
Washi Tape Feather Supplies:
Here’s a list of supplies I used to create my CASE’d version of Shelli’s card:
Did you make a card using some washi tape feathers?
I’d love to see your designs! Be sure to share your link in the comments! :)
Updates on the homefront
It’s been a long time since I gave you an update on the family. We’re settling into our new house quite comfortably. “Baby Pea” got her first big girl bed yesterday — it’s a bunk bead! She’s still so tiny (she’s small for her age) and I have a bit of anxiety about her falling from her bed. Must have checked on her twenty times last night.
Hope’s doing really well in school — she’s about half way through kindergarten. She’s already reading really well and loves being in school. She’s working on making her own valentines for her class. She’s got about 30 to make and insists she can do it all herself… “don’t help me mom!”
They get so big so quick.
