Three very different cards using three very different stamp sets

Welcome blog hoppers! This month’s blog hop theme is birthdays and today I’d like to show you three very different birthday cards that I made using three very different stamp sets!

The first card features the Balloon Bash stamp set (which is definitely my favorite from the Occasions catalog). I CASE’d my previous birthday card and recreated it in Coastal Cabana (going to be so sad in June when this color retires).

This card is gender neutral and would make a great card for anyone. I used Bermuda Bay for the border of the main stamped image as well as the banner, which was stamped on a separate piece of whisper white and popped up with some dimensional tape.

The next card was a direct CASE (I’m pretty sure I didn’t change a thing) from a card that I found on Google Image Search. I didn’t save the image to my computer so I can’t tell you who originally created this card (eek!) but if you know who it was, please leave a comment below so I can link back to the original creator.

I love this card because it’s just so simple! I spritzed a little crumb cake ink onto a whisper white base and then stamped the banner image directly onto the card base. The cake image was stamped onto a scrap of white and punched out with the coordinating circle punch. I created the starburst with a scallop punch — I punched it out once, adhered it to a scrap and then put it back into the punch, offsetting the scallop so it’d be cut as a starburst.

A birthday card for her made with the versatile Bloom with Hope Hostess set

I love this stamp set because it makes great backgrounds and because it gives me an excuse to crack out my Stampin’ Blendabilities!

Birthday Card for her made with the Bloom with Hope Hostess Set

This card was made by first stamping the daisy stamp from Bloom with Hope all over the card base. I used both Bermuda Bay ink and cardstock for this tone-on-tone effect. The flowers were stamped onto whisper white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is what you’ll want to use with Stampin’ Blendabilities or any alcohol based ink. The daisies were colored with the Coastal Cabana (seriously, I’m going to miss this color!) Blendabilities. The greeting is from the same set, which was stamped in Coastal Cabana. The whole image was then matted on a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and then finished with a small Coastal Cabana bow. The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack, which you can earn for free all this month during Sale-A-Bration.

  2. Hi Stacey

I love the card you made with the Bloom for Hope stamp set. I just got this stamp set and have not used it yet – you have given me some real inspiration – Thank you!

  3. Great cards! I love the variety and LOVE the third card especially. The colors are gorgeous and I just love that stamp set but think it looks so cool making the background using that single flower. Thanks for the inspiration!
