Welcome hoppers! Glad to have you hopping along with us on the Fun N Crafty Team Blog Hop!
My absolute favorite new stamp set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog is the Christmas Pines set, which features great Christmas greetings and gorgeous layering pinecone stamps. This month only, you can get Christmas Pines, along with 8 other stamp sets, for 25% off the retail price! And if you love dies, you’ll love the coordinating Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies, which is what I used to make this both the traditional Christmas Blessings and gorgeous Hawaiian-themed Christmas cards featured above!
Mele Kalikimaka featuring Pretty Pines Thinlits and Botanical Builder Framelits
I was recently browsing through some card samples online and in a sea of Christmas themed cards, I saw one very random card using the Botanical Builder Framelits and thought to myself “Hmm.. flowers for Christmas… this looks Hawaiian… HEY!” And the idea for the Mele Kalikimaka card was born.
I stamped the Mele Kalikimaka greeting with the new Labeler Alphabet photopolymer stamps, which are great for creating your own sentiments!
The pinecone thinlits from Pretty Pines looks a bit like a pineapple if you flip them upside down. The pine needles are also perfect for the pinecone tops. I added a little extra Hawaiian flare by creating the flowers and tropical leaves with the Botanical Builder Framelits dies. I stamped veins on the leaves with the coordinating Botanical Blooms stamps. To get that multi-colored look for the flowers, I inked a block with Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo. I then sprayed some water on it then placed my paper on the block to transfer the color. Wait for it to dry and send it on through the big shot!
I added a little shimmer to this card with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, which I love for adding little touches of shine.
Christmas Blessings with Christmas Pines
The next card I want to show you is a little more traditional themed. This card is quick to create and is just gorgeous! This card also features the Pretty Pines Thinlits as well as the Pine Bough Embossing Folder. And I’m just in love with these adorable Mini Pinecones! I also used some Clear Wink of Stella on the pinecones to add a bit of shimmer.
My favorite part is the inside of the card, which features the layering pinecone stamps from the Christmas Pines stamp set.
