Be sure to bookmark this blog (hit Ctrl+D on Windows or CMD+D on a mac). I’ll be posting sneak peeks twice a week leading up to the Occasions catalog launch on January 4th. Review part 1 here and part 2 here. Today we’re looking at the Lift Me Up bundle, Dragonfly Dreams bundle and the new Watercolor Pencils!
Birthday Bright Project Kit
I don’t know about you but the best time of year for me to make birthday cards is spring! It’s a great time to focus on getting cards made for your friends and family. Our Birthday Bright kit features 12 cards and gift tags that are quick to put together! It also comes with a cute storage box and an envelope address guide to help you center your addresses on your envelope!
You can’t see it from the picture, but you will also get die cut pieces that say “Happy Birthday” in English, French and German.
Birthday Blast Bundle
One product that I overlooked in the catalog on first viewing was the Star Blast Edgelits dies. This die will cut a super cute shooting star image, which you can use to decorate your card fronts, use as a box topper or even create your own princess crowns with!
Of course, there is a coordinating stamp set for this die, which features a couple of large sentiments as well as a large flourish that nests under the die cut embellishment, which you can see above.
Did you know that there’s a huge sale going on right now in my online store? Save up to 60% off retiring and holiday products before they’re gone! Also, today is the last day to order to guarantee your order arrives before Christmas! See what’s on sale!
Happy Celebrations Stamps & Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders
If you’re looking for new techniques, this stamp set and coordinating embossing folders is for you! The stamp set features some great brush strokes and greetings.
The magic happens with the embossing folders, though! Here you can see the two folders feature the words “Happy” and “Celebrate.” What you can’t tell from this first image is that these folders were inspired by letterpress and press the words into the paper in a debossed image.
Combine with the stamp set and you have a wonderful new technique! Here, the paper was first embossed with the “Happy” folder. The designer then stamped right over the embossed image with the large brush stroke from the coordinating Happy Celebrations stamp set.
Taking this technique a little further, the following paper was first stamped with one of the “Happy” stamps from the Happy Celebrations stamp set. It was then embossed with the “Happy” embossing folder. After that, it was stamped with a brush stroke stamp again, only with a darker pink. Pretty cool!
Here’s what it looks like after embossing:
And after stamping a few circles over that embossed image.
And here’s what it looks like when you stamp “Celebrate” first, then emboss, then stamp the circles.
Here’s a cute shaker card made with this stamp set. Embossed first then stamped with the circles. This is actually a neat card because I think it uses our clear envelopes to make the shaker portion of the card. I’d never thought to use the clear envelopes for that but it’s perfect! The embellishments are the Sprinkles Embellishments that I shared with you in Part 1 of the 2017 Occasions Sneak Peek series.
And, to kick it up another notch, here’s a gorgeous watercolored card featuring the Happy Celebrations stamps and Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders. To make this card, the designer first stamped “celebrate” using versamark ink onto watercolor paper, then she applied White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set with the heat tool. Next, the card front was watercolored. Last, the card front was embossed with the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder. Simply gorgeous!
