Hands down, my favorite Sale-A-Bration freebie this year is Hey Chick. There’s something so charming about these cute little chickens! Today’s project features the two portly chickens from Hey Chick! Don’t forget–you can get this stamp set for free with your $50+ order in my online store during Sale-A-Bration!
First, I want to thank Linda Pittman who designed todays card, which I received from a swap that I recently participated in. I think this is definitely one of my favorite cards that I received… although I received a lot of really great cards so I digress!
Hey Chick Any Occasion Card Front
The chicken on the front of the card was stamped with Jet Black Staz-On ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock. It was then lightly colored with the Basic Gray pencil from the new Watercolor Pencils pack. These pencils blend so easily when you apply water with an Aqua Painter! I just love them! The red and yellow you see here are a Real Red and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write marker, which offer a richer color than the watercolor pencils. Though, the watercolor pencils would work well too.
The chicken was cut out using the new Stitched Shapes Framelits, which are now back in stock! The oval was then layered over a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, which coordinate perfectly with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits.
The white diamonds pattern is from the Pop Of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper, which has some really great black and white patterns among the Melon Mambo patterns. It’s hard to see in this photo but there is some linen thread wrapped around the card on top of the burlap ribbon.
Inside the Hey Chick Any Occasion Card
The cluck continues inside the card! This chicken was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On ink and colored with the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker.
